Contract
Cylinder Filling
Novagas
offers other bottled gas companies the facility to have their
cylinders filled under contract.
Who?
Novagas
provides a contract filling service for other gas supply companies,
be they independent or multinational, and at present supplies
several organizations that own their own cylinders and market
them in areas local to themselves.
Why?
Novagas
is contracted by these companies to fill cylinders for them,
and again service plays a very important role in the success
enjoyed by such entities. They are allowed to explore all
sectors of the market place, and like Novagas have built a
reputation for their customer service. Most of these independent
gas supply companies were at some time either stockist's or
distributors for national LPG suppliers, but were severely
restricted in the ways in which they could sell LPG. They
have now become more customer orientated instead of company
dominated, prices are determined on a local level rather than
having to follow a national policy.
How?
These
companies transport empty cylinders to the Novagas plant near
Ashford where they are either filled as the customer waits,
or left for filling and collection at a later date. This again
is tailored where possible to fit in with the contract company’s
schedules. In the same way that Novagas checks its own cylinders,
contract customer cylinders are inspected for any damage,
leaking valves and date at which they have to be re-furbished.
The cylinders are then loaded onto a roller system for movement
into the filling shed. Automatic product guns are connected
to the cylinders and Avery Berkel digital filling machines
set to fill the correct weight of LPG. Once the machine has
stopped filling, the gun is removed and the cylinder travels
down the rollers to be leak tested, seals applied and then
stored on the loading bay ready for collection.
