about us and LPG
1.
Our mission:-
Our
fundamental object in life is to supply customers with bottled
gas for domestic cooking and heating purposes, running forklifts,
fuelling catering establishments, along with uses in the agricultural
and industrial sector at competitive prices, backed by an
unrivalled service. We stock gas equipment including BBQ's,
Patio Heaters, Camping lights and Stoves, Bullfinch gas equipment
and many more associated items. We can supply both trade and
retail customers alike.
2.
Who are we:-
Novagas
is an independent gas bottling company, that was formed in
1988 to serve the local area with bottled gas at competitive
prices in its own cylinders -either propane or butane. As
with vacuum cleaners, the synonymous name is “Hoover”
–be it a Phillips, Goblin or Electrolux, and in the
world of LPG -everybody relates to “Calor gas”.
This is just a brand name on cylinders containing LPG, the
same as the contents of a Novagas cylinder.
3.
Markets:-
Bottled
gas is used mainly in communities where there is no mains
gas, and because LPG is one of the cleanest burning fuels,
environmentally conscious customers wishing to protect the
environment choose LPG. Our core business is the supply of
LPG to domestic customers for home heating, but we also supply
the industrial sector for forklifts, space heating, process
work and the agricultural market for grain drying and poultry
rearing. Because it is contained in cylinders it is easy to
take the fuel to where it is to be used. Public houses and
restaurants in rural locations use LPG for cooking and heating
–plus patio heaters to extend “alfresco”
hours. Caravan parks are another area into which we sell LPG,
again because of the lack of mains gas.

Uses:-
LPG
is used in cylinders in many different applications, including
the following; home heating (Central heating -coal or log
effect fires), mobile cabinet heaters, cooking, patio heaters,
camping, mobile catering, caravanning, barbecues, wall hung
gas fires, calf de-budders, grain drying, portable gaslights,
poultry breeding, portable-cooking stoves, pheasant rearing,
weed burning, bird scarers, shrink wrapping, kiln firing,
space heating, metal cutting, forklift trucks,and plumbing.

to Novagas is not a problem, as all our fittings are compatible,
and by switching to us, customers can benefit in many ways.
Firstly we are in most areas up to three times a week. Secondly,
we offer customers many ways in which to pay, COD, account
or monthly standing order, the latter spreading the cost of
home heating over 12 months and earning the customer a discount
too. We employ local people who have an empathy with customers,
our depot is in the heart of the area we serve, and when ringing
us you will talk to a human being –not an electronic
voice at a remote ordering centre asking you to press numerous
buttons, play tin can music in your ear and finally telling
you all their agents are busy. We pride ourselves on our customer
service, which is second to none and the envy of other gas
companies, firmly believing in the old fashioned principle
that the customer is King, and we will do all we can to ensure
complete satisfaction. Our only concession to the electronic
age is an answer phone for emergency numbers –or when
staff are otherwise engaged, and of course -this website.

Other Activities:-
Novagas
are one of the South Easts leading agents for Air Products
Industrial Gases, supplying gas for welding, cutting, process
work, balloon inflating and drink dispensing. We are also
contracted to supply BP filling stations in our area with
their Handygas brand of cylinders. We contract fill cylinders
for other independent gas companies in the southeast and stock
many items of LPG equipment. Equipment which is not stocked
can be acquired for customers, or we will advise them where
they can purchase it. The supply of gas oil and DERV from
pumps at Ruckinge, plus pre-packed kerosene and paraffin is
another activity we are engaged in. We have also developed
our own software to monitor cylinders sales, copies of which
have been supplied to other companies.

What is LPG:-
LPG
is extracted from crude oil at refineries by major oil companies
and then sold to hundreds of different bottling companies,
of which Novagas is one. Its price is related to the cost
of oil and is subject to market fluctuations almost daily.
Our raw product comes from one of the worlds largest oil companies
–BP, thus ensuring its quality. LPG (Liquefied Petroleum
Gas) is a gas stored under pressure, turning it into a liquid,
once released to atmospheric pressure -it reverts back to
a gaseous state. It does this at up to 270 times the volume
of liquid –so one cylinder of liquid equates to approximately
270 of gas. The pressure at which LPG is stored can be up
to 21bar (294psi), it is therefore important that the correct
piece of equipment is used, especially the regulator.
